FAQs
Location, Location, Location!
A note on public parks:
Each client is responsible for providing a venue for their picnic. A beautiful and cost-effective venue can be a public park! As a courtesy, and to improve access to our services for those without a yard, we have permits at specific parks in the City of Seattle. We pay for these permits on behalf of our clients on an ongoing basis and we have exclusive use of these parks - no other picnic company can operate at our parks! We hand-picked these locations with you in mind, and you’ll see the list of options during the booking process. (We don’t want everyone to know about the best picnic spots!)
Unfortunately, according to city policy, not all parks are eligible for pop up picnics (ie: Gas Works Park, Discovery Park). Because of these restrictions, if you request a different park for your picnic, you will be responsible for providing a private reservation through the city if you would like to use a park other than the ones we provide. A link to the city’s reservable picnic areas are here: https://www.seattle.gov/parks/rentals-and-permits/picnic-rentals.
We cannot set up at Seattle city parks without a permit.
If you choose to use a public park as a venue for your picnic, please be aware of and respect the risks and rules that come with a public park setting. (No alcohol, no loud music, no littering, and we cannot guarantee privacy for your event.) Parks are still public spaces for our lovely neighborhoods and our events should not interrupt normal park usage.
Please note: these permits are for our Date Night, Proposal, and Celebrate picnic packages. For custom events, usually a public park is not the best location. We’re happy to guide you to alternatives and talk more about this during the planning process!
